Fierce Gray Wolf

Wolf Story

Fierce Wolf!

This is the story of how I came to live among the wolves.

I have always loved wolves. On my seventh birthday, the Wolf Conservation Center (The WCC) sent me a letter saying that my family and I could camp there overnight. They knew me because, on my fourth birthday, instead of presents, I asked for donations for the WCC. When I went there to give them the money, I met Atka and Zephyr for the first time. They are two of the wolves who live there. Zephyr is a Mexican Gray Wolf and Atka is an Arctic gray wolf. There are two other wolves: one named Nikai, and Zepher's sister Alawa.. I learned many things about wolves during my two visits to the WCC. I learned that a group of wolves is called a pack, with a leader called the alpha wolf. Alawa and Zepher are alphas and they hold up their tails to show it. Wolves that don't live in a pack, like Atka, are called “lone wolves”. Babies are called “pups”. I think we should protect wolves.
